Lancaster County (PA)  – Now in its 16th year, Cherry Crest Adventure Farm has earned a place in agri-tainment history as home to America’s longest-running Amazing Maize Maze®”. . .and a fun place for all ages to enjoy life on the farm. A 175-acre cattle and poultry operation, Cherry Crest kicks off its 2011 summer season Saturday, July 2, with over 50 farm fun activities, games and rides – including the popular Farm Ed and Farm Animal Centers with baby chicks hatchery and Goat Mountain. 
The farm's opening week includes the July4th holiday. Summer hours are Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturdays 10am until dusk. The last entrance to the maze is 90 minutes prior to closing.  Reflecting the theme “Once Upon a Time,” this year’s maze invites trekkers to step into the pages of a magical storybook and castle – facing both danger and delight as they navigate their way through a series of high-stalk adventures. Climbing Rapunzel’s hair, escaping the dark dungeon and zipping over the castle moat all lead to “The End”. . .and the way out. Plus there are many decisions and fun diversions to tickle your funny bones. Flee through the Quick Escape Door, or face the ultimate challenge by finding 15 hidden puzzle pieces that complete a map. Don’t miss the new “MAD-gical Lib”, that lets you create your own mixed-up fairy tale from snippets of the most famous characters and plots.       Cherry Crest offers a full roster of farm fun stuff to do. There are several new games to entice friendly competition, from Barnyard Ga Ga (a 24’ octagon for Dodge Ball), the strength-testing Post Pounder and a giant Game Station to Corn Hole and Poly Pong (a 4-person Ping Pong game with fun variations). There’s also Corny, Cherry Crest’s mascot who loves posing for photos, plus new additions like the Cider Donut Shop, Chuck Wagon Cafe, Barnyard Food Corral – and the School House Sweet Shop that is the new home to Lancaster’s Best Fudge. Of course, the farm’s fresh roasted sweet corn still tops the list of favorites.  Just the facts!Location: 150 Cherry Hill Road, Ronks, PA.– in the heart of PA Dutch Country about 12 miles east of Lancaster, off of Rt. 741, Paradise Township. Free parking is available adjacent to the maze. 
Hours of Operation: Summer Hours: (July 2-Sept. 3) Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am until dusk.  Fall Hours  (Sept. 5-Nov. 5) Friday 10am-5pm, Saturday 10am until dusk, and every Thursday Oct. 6-Nov. 3 10am-5pm. Always closed Sundays and Mondays (except for holiday Mondays July 4, Sept. 5 and Oct. 10). Also open Sept. 19-23 (in conjunction with Thomas the Train Week) from 10am-5pm. The popular night-time Flashlight Mazes & Hayride (where your own flashlight guides the way) are Friday-Saturday Oct. 1-Nov. 5 from 6:30-10pm. Open weather permitting. Last entrance to the maze is 90 minutes prior to closing. 
Special Event Dates: Pedal Tractor Pull Aug. 2-6; Military Appreciation Day Sept. 10; Train Week Sept.19-24; Sukkot Holiday Oct. 18 with a special menu by Central PA Kosher Mart; Pick-Your-Own To Take Home Sept. 24-Oct. 29 Friday-Saturday 10am-dusk, and Saturday Harvest Festivals Sept. 24-Oct. 29 10am-dusk with special kids activities (at additional cost) like pony rides, scarecrow making, pumpkin painting and more, and our zany Pumpkin Madness Festival Nov. 5.
 Food: New this year is a Chuck Wagon Cafe and Cider Donut Shop. Cherry Crest Adventure Farm offers Food Corrals in the Courtyard and Barnyard for burgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and wraps, garden and fruit salads, funnel cakes, hand-dipped ice cream and snow ice, beverages (including our Fresh Squeezed Lemonade), Cherry Crest Kettle Corn, Lancaster’s Best Fudge (now offered in the new School House Sweet Shop), and the ever popular fresh roasted corn on the cob. Inside the maze there is the Castle Cafe with umbrellas and tables with seating, plus a selection of snacks and beverages. 
Admission: All-day Amazing Fun Pass (includes 50+ Farm Fun activities in the Maze, Barnyard and Courtyard plus free parking and free photo souvenir) $15 for all ages 3 and up. Children age 2 and under admitted free of charge. Flashlight Mazes are $10 all ages 3 and up. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or online. Group Outings: The farm is the perfect destination for both large (up to 1000 guests) and small (minimum 125 guests) group events. For smaller groups there are two party barns available for rent.
