Strasburg Railroad

August 3, 2012
Is it really August already? Before the kiddos head back to school and summer concludes, spend a day of fun at Strasburg Rail Road.  Enjoy the 45-minute train ride through beautiful farmland. Plan on packing a picnic lunch (or picking up boxed lunches at the Trackside Cafe) and get off the train mid-way down the tracks at Groff’s Grove. You can eat your lunch, have fun on the little playground and hop on the returning train an hour later!

Once you return to the station, young kids will have fun with the Cranky Cars. Six hand-propelled cars, allow little ones to take control as they crank their way around a track. For older kids, the authentic Pump Car lets them test their own power as they travel down the track. And, the Strasburg Rail Road is one of just a few places where passengers can ride behind a Cagney locomotive. This miniature steam engine is just a fraction of the size of a traditional locomotive, but musters up plenty of might as it pulls its load around the property!

Don't forget Strasburg Rail Road offers many different special Dining events during the month of August and throughout the Autumn season (http://strasburgrailroad.com/dining-on-the-train.php) and Day Out With Thomas™ returns September 15-23, 2012 (http://strasburgrailroad.com/day-out-with-thomas.php)
