More than 100 Local Girls Serve as American Girl® Models

October 13, 2015
Lancaster, PA (September 2015) – Hands-on House Children’s Museum of Lancaster celebrates girls
and all they can be by hosting Central PA’s only American Girl Fashion ShowTM held on November 6 & 7
2015 at Calvary Church, 1051 Landis Valley Road, Lancaster, PA.

Nearly 112 local girls were selected to model in the Fashion Show, which builds self-esteem and provides
an interactive opportunity to celebrate historical and contemporary fashions from American Girl.® The
educational and entertaining experience allows the young girls to volunteer and discover the elements
required to produce an event of this kind. Girls age six to 10 will volunteer as models presenting fashions
on stage and high school girls will volunteer as commentators, technicians, dressers and doll salon
stylists.

There will be four different shows times, all will be held at a new location - Calvary Church. Tickets
include reserved table seating, a dessert buffet and American Girl party favors. Tickets are $35 per
person. Full tables of 10 may also be purchased. Tickets are available at www.handsonhouse.org or
717.569.KIDS.

“This is a great way for girls to learn about volunteering and giving back to their community while
celebrating their enthusiasm for American Girl,” said Event Chair, Michele Wighaman. “We are pleased to
offer a volunteer opportunity that helps to affirm self-esteem, celebrate individuality and instill a sense of
pride in girls.”

Fashion Show ticket holders who are unable to volunteer as models are invited to take part in the show
through the American Girl Dreamwalk Guest Model Experience. In addition to the chance to walk the
runway, each Dreamwalk Guest Model will receive a tiara and sash for herself and her doll to wear and
keep, as well as a raffle ticket package. The experience is available for Fashion Show attendees ages 5 -
12 for $75. Interested participants can reserve their spot for the Dreamwalk experience here.
The event will feature a raffle with numerous raffle prizes including, American Girl dolls and merchandise,
