The Holiday Season is here and we captured the spirit of Christmas by attending Sight & Sound Theatres presents Miracle of Christmas!
If you have never been to Sight & Sound Theatres you need to add it to your must do this Christmas. This was our first time attending a show at Sight & Sound Theatres, it went above and beyond our expectations.
Upon arrival to Sight & Sound Theatres you are directed to a parking spot by friendly staff, they are not lacking anywhere when it comes to smiling staff members. When we got out of the truck and approached the building, we saw our children's eyes fill with joy, as they saw all the Christmas decorations outside. In grand Macaroni Kid Lancaster, PA style the kids had no idea where we were headed until this moment and they were over joyed. As we stepped inside the smell of their famous glazed almonds hit you and you are welcomed by more smiling staff members.
Our tickets were place at the box office, which was conveniently placed in the center upon entry. What I appreciated was that their was plenty of space that separates the box office from the entry. Claiming your tickets from the box office is as easy as giving them your reservation number and name.
Finding our seats we super easy to do as well, as staff members help you every step of the way. Keep in mind when placing your order for seats that Sight & Sound Theatres shows take place around the lower level, so the front seats are not necessarily the best seats. We were in the section just above the floor level and felt like they were great seats. Honestly, I feel like no seat would be a bad seat.
One of my favorite things as a mom and going with my family, is that they do not allow any photos or videos of the show. The reason why I love this is that I was able to be in the moment and watch my kids expressions during the show, which is something I might miss if I had been trying to capture the show. The expressions on my kids faces as they saw this presentation truly brought smiles to my face. They truly enjoyed how the story of the bible came to life right in front of them, with real life animals. I know that this experience is one that they will remember forever.
We attended the 11AM show, so by the time it was intermission we were getting hungry. Remember those glazed almonds I mentioned before? Well of course we had to try them and well... lets just say that I had to get some to take home. We also enjoyed sandwiches from the concession stand. They have a variety of food and drink options available to purchase.
The show is a total of about two and half hours long, which I know can be a long time for some kids. I was surprised that the kids were engaged the whole time during the performance. What I love about Sight & Sound Theatres is that they keep the whole family in mind and have a Family Room you can do to and watch the performance live on a TV, while the kids play with the various toys. They also have a nursing section within the Family Room for those with nursing infants.
Once the show was over we asked the kids what they thought of the show and they said it was amazing. When asked what their favorite parts were they said the live animals, Jesus and the angels. I have to agree with them, as I couldn't get over the set used for the Miracle of Christmas. The actors were amazing in their roles and you could tell that they enjoyed being their part.
Sight & Sound presents Miracle of Christmas runs through December 28th. Details Here
Until next time...
