Welcome to the 2012 Summer Camp Guide! I have heard parents say to me they think it's too early to sign up for camp, believe it or not it's not! Many camps are all ready taking registrations. In this newsletter you will find several camps in the Lancaster area as well as a few camp related articles. Our regular newsletter will resume on March 19th!

Cinco de Mayo Party
Throw a Cinco de Mayo fiesta Tonight!
Start with an appetizer of chips and salsa in colorful bowls. Care for guacamole? (See my own recipe below!)
Decorate your table with colorful Mexican fiesta placemats. (See insctuctions below.)
Got tortillas? Try making cheese rolls for the kids. Mine love them. Lay a tortilla flat and sprinkle cheese over the top. Spread a layer of refried beans bfore the cheese if your kids prefer. Then microwave just until cheese is melted. Roll up tortilla like a burrito and serve with salsa or ...
Macaroni Craft: Musical Maracas
Make your own maracas to celebrate Cinco de Mayo!
What you will need:
- 2 styrofoam or paper cups
- colored tape or hot glue gun
- paints in various colors
- decorative accents such as pom-poms, buttons, sequins, stickers, etc
- glue
- rice or beans or unpopped popcorn kernels
What to do:
- Fill one cup with rice and/or beans and/or unpopped popcorn kernels; you only need a handful inside the cup
- Turn the other cup over and place ...
Macaroni Recipe: Cinco de Mayo Cookies
Cinco de Mayo is Spanish for the fifth of May and remembers the day in 1862 when Mexico's army had an unlikely victory over the French. Ironically, the holiday is not widely celebrated in Mexico...but we sure enjoy it here! This cookie is a tasty and easy way to celebrate. Olé.
What you need:
Refrigerated Sugar Cookie dough (we use the kind in a tube...but you could use your own dough and cut them into circles)
Multi-colored Non-pareils
Frosting
Gum Drops
